This summer, we’re bringing 'Thanks for Being Here' as 'Merci d'être là' to La Manufacture as part of the Avignon Off Festival. A show about the audience. And about your expectations. Which tends to raise a few questions. Is it interactive? Will I have to go on stage? Who is it for? Here are some answers to the questions we get most often.

What is Thanks for Being Here about?

Thanks for Being Here - Merci d'être là is a show about one of theatre’s most important elements: the audience. Through video, humour and a series of shifting perspectives, Ontroerend Goed turns its attention to the audience - and the expectations that you bring with you. The fact that you're reading this text, considering to buy a ticket, is well worth celebrating.

Is it an interactive show?

No. You don’t have to do anything. You can simply sit back and watch. We'll watch you.

Will I have to go on stage?

No. Promise. We might come and sit next to you, though.

Do I need to like contemporary theatre to enjoy it?

Not necessarily. The show is for regular theatre-goers as much as for people who only go occasionally. No prior knowledge is required. The show was awarded an audience award from a young audience at the Belgian Theatre Festival (Het TheaterFestival 2024 - Wijkjury).
